Most field ops positions in the Human Military are, ironically, held by Genies. Phearah and her comrades believe that Mankind will soon lose its ability to defend itself without them.
Using intelligence and technology reaped from well placed spies, Phearah infiltrates the mission zone of a Genie on assignment. Cloaked from visual and mechanical detection by cybernetic wings, she hovers high above the area, gaze scrutinizing the landscape below. Seconds later, she spots her target, aims her weapon, and drops the cloak to take her shot.
Though we created them to serve us, if relied upon too much, we will become their servants with no way to combat them. That is why every Genie must be destroyed, every last one of them, before such a fate befalls us.
Wow! I wasn’t expecting that at the end. You are very creative. 🙂

Thank you very much. I’m glad that you enjoyed the scene. There will be more flash fiction referencing this particular storyline as it is part of a Science Fiction novel I’m currently writing.
